Jonathan Edwards does the best job of explaining these very difficult passages on what it means to blaspheme the Holy Spirit. I'll spend a few posts posting his explanation.
"There seem to be three things essential to this sin: conviction, malice, and presumption in expressing that malice. Christ says,Mat. 12:31-32, “Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men and, whosoever speaketh a word against the son of man it shall be forgiven him but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost neither in this world nor in the world to come.”
